welcome to my website!

I am an Associate Professor and Chair of Philosophy at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. My areas of expertise include the philosophy of race, sex, and gender, as well as practical ethics—encompassing identity ethics, animal ethics, and bioethics.

My research explores topics like the ethics of cultural appropriation, the value of feminism, the metaphysical and moral implications of transracialism (attempts to change one’s race), the ethics of utilizing knowledge from animal experimentation, and the ethics of risky academic inquiry.

I completed my Ph.D. in Philosophy at Vanderbilt University and my B.A. Hons in Philosophy from McGill University. I was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario.
